Hello! I'm Amanda. I'm an INELDA-trained end-of-life doula, licensed hospice social worker, grief counselor, and death educator.
And Death was derived from the concept that death is always with us. For many people, this can initially be a daunting feeling, conjuring up many emotions, questions, and concerns. And Death aims to reframe how we see death so that it is more of a companion to our living selves that is simply always there until we are ready for it. By using a modifiable blend of clinical, business, and holistic approaches, I strive to help my clients navigate their unique end-of-life journeys and establish personal goals, and minimize any fear, stress, confusion, and anxiety that can prevent feelings of peace and comfort along the way.
In addition to death work, I am passionate about advocating for better end-of-life healthcare and living options, mental health and dementia awareness, trauma-informed care in all social settings, and easier access to Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD).
When I'm not tiring out my family and friends with all my death talk, I'm cuddling with my three cats, catering to my ever-growing plant collection, reading memoirs, baking cookies, or trying to become a seasoned yogi. I look forward to meeting you and helping you become you and death.
